Apple’s way of naming devices is now being copied by Chinese brands. Even Poco has a new X8 Pro Max lined up for launch after the Oppo Reno 15 Pro Max. This will be a premium device, of course. There’s possibly a Dimensity 9500s running on it. It’s rumored that the Poco X8 Pro Max is actually a rebranded Redmi Turbo 5 Max, so they have the same specs as well. If that’s the case, the display will be an AMOLED 6.83” panel. That means there is a partial variable refresh rate. There’s 1.5K resolution here, as is the norm with all Poco X phones. The best thing about Poco X8 Pro Max is actually its battery. A 8500mAh battery inside it makes the X8 Pro Max the company’s first phone with such a huge power pack. It will get refilled by a 100W charger. This is a new 2026 semi-flagship device, so it’s built around an Android 16 x Hyper OS 3 system. We found on Geekbench that one of the variants will have 16GB RAM. The Poco X8 Pro at the bottom is rated IP69, so it’s reasonable to assume the Pro Max features the same rating. This newcomer is meant to compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, but only if the Poco X8 Pro Max is priced right.
