Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Global Launch Set for November; Expect Smaller Batteries

The 17 Pro series never made it to the global market. This was a precautionary move because they wanted to test the waters first with their first-gen rear display tech. The company is now confident enough to debut the Xiaomi 18 Pro series globally, and the first official teaser is already live on the international X account.

The X post says, “Xiaomi 18 Pro series going global this November.” They’ve only given the launch month, not the exact date. Though we do hope to see a more specific timeline down the road. Obviously, there’s a possibility that the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max might end up in Pakistan. So you might as well get familiar with this duo.
There was an Italian retailer listing where some specs were exposed. Epto online store had given up the storage options and the prices back in October for the Pro and Pro Max. Fair warning: European prices are always inflated, blown up by taxes. They are not the global MSRP.

The base Xiaomi latest 18 mobile (12/256GB) got listed on Epto for €1,398.90. Again, this trauma-inducing price is only for Europe. The same 12/256GB base trim for the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max would be €1,783.90. These newcomers are way cheaper in China.
By the way, there’s one change on the global versions. They have smaller batteries. The basic Pro version had a 7000mAh cell in China, which, for the global market, has been cut to 6000mAh. And the Pro Max went from 8500mAh capacity all the way down to a 7050mAh cell.

They didn’t change other specs, though. We’ll still get a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip on those phones. The Pro and Pro Max will have LTPO tech at 120Hz, with HDR10+ and 4000 nits of brightness. Xiaomi 18 Pro is 6.4” with a 2.7” rear screen.
There’s a 6.9” main with a 2.9” rear screen combo on the Pro Max. Each phone has a dual 200MP (main + telephoto) lens pair and a third 50MP ultrawide unit. The selfie cameras are also 50MP. They have 100W wired and 50W wireless charging as well. We’ll update you when they tease the exact launch date. Keep watching the news.
