Vivo Y500i is up next to join the series. There’s already a Pro version with a 7,000 mAh battery, but the Y500i might beat that with a 7,200 mAh cell. That extra 200mAh capacity will translate to hours of screen play time. Vivo Y500i doesn’t have as powerful a chip. It’s a basic Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, but it does have 5G cellular support. This means the Y500i is also 5G. There’s, of course, the latest Android 16 OS on it, and surely, Vivo’s OriginOS 6 is used for interface customization. Then comes the screen, which is 6.75” IPS LCD — no fancy resolution, just your low-end 720p HD+ quality. An IPS panel on the Vivo Y500i means that the fingerprint reader is on the side, not the display. The camera takes decent enough pictures from the back with a 50MP sensor, but its 5MP selfie shooter won’t be as useful. The design of this phone feels close to the Vivo S50, but obviously, they don’t match in hardware quality. There are also three storage options for this one. The base version is pretty solid at 8/256GB, and the options go all the way up to 12/512GB. These specs are all certified in China for the Vivo Y500i. Just the charging speed is missing from the spec sheet. This newcomer is launching right on the heels of the Samsung Galaxy A07 5G and A17 5G, and the Y500i might be able to compete with those after launch.
