Apple iPhone 15 Series Awaits 35W Thunderbolt Charging via USB Type-C

Leaked images from yesterday have sparked excitement among Apple enthusiasts as they reveal a significant enhancement in the upcoming Apple iPhone 15 series, namely the support for Thunderbolt via the USB-C port. Apple’s next-gen devices may finally comply with EU regulations.

Apple has been trailing behind its Android counterparts, specifically with fast charging capabilities for its iPhones. However, a recent report from 9to5Mac, backed by insights from industry sources, indicates a potential game-changer.

The iPhone 15 series alleges to offer faster charging speeds, reaching up to an impressive 35W. It would address a long-standing concern, especially considering that the non-Pro models offer a modest 20W wired charging speed, while the Pro variants cap at 27W.

The improved charging speed could significantly reduce the time needed for a full charge. As it stands now, it takes approximately two hours to recharge the iPhone latest model.

The question remains whether the upgraded 35W charging speed will extend to all four models of the iPhone 15 series or if it will remain exclusive to the Pro variants. Given Apple's tendency to segregate its non-Pro models from the Pro versions, the latter seems more plausible.

Rumors indicate the employment of stacked battery technology in the iPhone 15 series. That, coupled with the speculated reports of Thunderbolt, suggests the potential for even faster charging speeds. It will save Apple costs over development since 35W dual USB-C charger already exists for the Macbook Airs.

Notably, in March of this year, prominent Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo hinted at the iPhone 15 series potentially supporting fast charging speeds through USB-C, but only with certified cables. As the official unveiling of the iPhone 15 series draws closer, Apple enthusiasts await further details on these exciting developments.
