Infinix Smart 6 Goes Official; Entry-level Handset with Unisoc Chipset and Long Battery Life

Infinix just introduced a new Smart series phone, the Smart 6. The official webpage for the Infinix Smart 5 successor is already up, but the manufacturer has not published the pricing or availability details yet. We’ll take a look at what the entry-level Smart 6 has to offer.

Infinix Smart 6 sports a predictable plastic body and a glossy finish. The polycarbonate shell houses a rear fingerprint scanner and roundish camera plate. The chassis has a 3.5mm audio jack and a dated microUSB port built into it.

Infinix coated the Smart 6 back in an antibacterial material to make it safer. You can pick from Heart of Ocean, Light Sea Green, Polar Black, and Starry Purple shades. 

Expected at an entry-level Infinix mobile price tag, the screen is a 6.6” IPS LCD, flanked by a drop notch on one side and a heavy chin on the other. It peaks at 720P in resolution and 500 nits in brightness. 2D Face Unlock works with the 5MP front camera. The main camera is 8MP and joined by an AI lens to pad the count.

Everything is powered by a 5000 mAh battery. Infinix Smart 6 offers 87 hours of music streaming and 31 hours of video playback out of a single charge. No fast-charging support is seen here, but the Smart 6 can stretch the battery life even further in the various power-saving modes.

The chipset inside the Infinix Smart 6 matches the unremarkable externals. It’s an obscure Unisoc platform, rounded off by 3GB of memory and 32GB of expandable internal storage. Android 11 Go Edition, made for low-end phones, runs on this hardware.
