LG Stylo 6 - The Latest Mid-ranger from LG that Brings a Gorgeous Display and a Stylus on a Budget

LG hasn’t faded into obscurity in the smartphone industry just yet, as the company introduced the stylus-touting LG Stylo 6 this week. The model falls into the lower-mid-range bracket but features a huge display and a stylus to take advantage of all the screen real-estate.

We’ll look at the design first, followed by the performance that the LG Stylo 6 promises. The design on the back is oddly reminiscent (and perhaps even inspired) by the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.  You get three cameras, arranged side-by-side, in a horizontal camera housing.

Right below the camera setup, you’ll find a rear-mounted capacitive fingerprint reader. The back cover isn’t chamfered and has a boxy look. It’s painted in a multi-colored gradient that mimics the Samsung-like ‘Aura’ design, but not as sleek or glossy.

In addition to the volume rockers and the power button mounted on the side, the frame also has a dedicated button for bringing up the Google Assistant. The slot for the stylus mentioned above goes at the bottom, though it isn’t as feature-rich as the one that ships with the Galaxy Note series. You can use it to write, doodle, and send animations over text.

Go around the front to find a tall display and a circular notch encroaching on it. The front panel is encased in minimal, yet pronounced bezels all around. It stretches 6.8 inches across, delivering an FHD+ resolution.

The camera inside the notch uses a 13MP sensor. As does the rear camera setup, in addition to a 5MP ultrawide camera and a 5MP depth-assist sensor.

LG has picked a MediaTek Helio P35 processor for the Stylo 6 and combined it with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (expandable up to 2TB). A 4,000 mAh battery and the latest Android 10 OS power the device.

The budget pick is available in the U.S., starting at $220  or about 35,000 PKR. We haven’t received word on its launch in other markets and besides it might never end up in Pakistan anyway as LG does not has an official presence in Pakistan.
