OPPO A56 5G Debuts with MediaTek Dimensity 700, 5,000 mAh Battery, and Dual Cameras

Oppo A56 5G is another budget addition to the ever-growing catalog of value 5G phones. Slight upgrade if compared to the Oppo A54 in Pakistan yet a mild refresh of the globally available A55 5G and not an entirely new phone. The A56 5G is currently available in China, featuring run-of-the-mill mediocre specs.

The chipset at the heart of Oppo A56 5G is the Dimensity 700 — the cheapest 5G mobile platform that MediaTek makes. You get 6GB of memory and 128GB of internal storage.

It runs on a 5000 mAh battery and the latest build of ColorOS. The cell has enough capacity to deliver all-day battery life. But the A56 5G lacks any fast-charging support.

The rest of the new Oppo mobile phone is just as unimpressive. The screen, with its notch and hefty bottom bezel, peaks only at a 720P resolution. It’s a 6.5” IPS LCD that embeds an 8MP camera in the notched housing. Oppo A56 5G comes with a slot for storage expansion, a side-facing thumbprint reader that doubles as the power button, and even a 3.5mm audio jack.

The phone’s shell is 8.4mm deep and weighs almost 190g. It’s made of plastic and finished in sunburst purple, graphite, and blue colors. Three cameras are mounted on the Oppo A56 5G: one 8MP front camera, a 13MP back camera, and an extra 2MP portrait lens. The lens system is nothing to write home about either. It can shoot in standard AI Beauty, Color, and Clear Night modes.

Oppo A56 5G comes in a single storage option, starting at CNY 1,599 (~ Rs. 43,800.) No word on a global release yet.
