Oppo Reno Ace 2 Gets Certified by TENNA; Specifications and Renders Leaked Online

Now that the Find X2 launch is wrapped up, Oppo is shifting its focus to another upcoming flagship, the sequel to last year’s Reno Ace. The flagship dubbed Oppo Reno Ace 2 has been signed off by TENNA, and the listing reveals the renders and specifications for the device.

You’re looking at a trendy punch-hole design that’s embedded in an AMOLED panel featuring an in-display fingerprint scanner at Amazing Oppo prices. Around the back, rests a circular camera bump. The four lenses inside the housing are arranged around text that reads ‘Ultra Steady.’ The front panel is flat, but the rear shell has soft roundings, with its edges chamfered. The build has the dimensions of 160x75.4x8.6 mm and weighs 185g.

The Oppo Reno Ace 2 carries the model number PDHM00, and it’ll be powered by a Snapdragon 865 chipset – that allows support for dual-mode 5G. The screen measures 6.5 inches, and it delivers an FHD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. While most Oppo flagships are camera-centric, the optics specifications here are rather underwhelming for a 2020 flagship.

The primary camera has a 48MP lens behind it that works with an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and a pair of 2MP sensors (likely a depth-assist and macro combination). For capturing selfies, the punch-hole has a 16MP front camera. Oppo has coupled the high-end mobile platform with 8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB storage. The hardware, of course, runs on an Android-10-based ColorOS 7.

The TENNA lists the battery as 1,995 mAh, but it’s a dual-cell battery speculated to be rated at 4,000 mAh. A 3C certification reveals that it’ll come with support for 65W wired and 40W wireless rapid charging. The back-facing panel will be available in Black, Blue, and Purple colors.
