Realme 5 128GB variant gets a price drop in Pakistan, now retails at 29,999 Rupees

The Realme 5 perfectly captures Realme’s vision -- bring consumers premium smartphones for a not-so premium price. Debuted back in October 2019, the Realme 5 builds on its predecessor, Realme 3 and offers better performance, a sleeker design, cleaner UI, and a bigger battery. The phone arrived with three different memory configurations, the base 3GB/64GB variant sporting up to 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage and the standard version with 4 GB of memory and 64 GB of onboard storage.

The top-tier Realme 5 128GB variant with 4 gigs of RAM and 128 GB of storage was originally retailing for 31,999 PKR, but now with a fresh discount for 2,000 PKR, this non-flagship smartphone from Realme will be available for a pocket-friendlier 29,999 PKR tag. It’s not difficult to see why you’d be hard-pressed to find this much storage for a starting Realme price this low.

You’re looking at a 6.5-inch drop-notch-toting display that produces an HD+ resolution. The side-bezels are paper-thin but the chin seems a bit heavier than the forehead. On the back, you get a four-lens setup -- again, not a feature typical of entry-level smartphones,  with a 12-megapixel primary shooter, paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro lens for better close-up shots. The quad-camera housing is flanked by your standard capacitive fingerprint reader. The back panel itself is offered in Crystal Blue and Crystal Purple hues.

Under the hood, sits a Snapdragon 665 chipset, rounded off by the aforementioned memory combination. If you find the storage lacking, however, you can expand it up to 256 GB with a micoSD card. This hardware draws juice from a 5,000 mAh battery -- which Realme claims can last up to 2 days of average use. That said, charging this power cell can be a hassle because this model fails to incorporate fast-charging. Finally, the phone is powered by a ColorOS 6.0-based Android Pie (9.0).
