Samsung Galaxy A23 5G Benchmarked On Geekbench; Chipset and Memory Details Uncovered

Back in May 2022, Samsung dropped its Galaxy A23 4G globally, which just made its way to Pakistan in June. After the handset’s global debut, many 5G variant rumors were in the air, and now the A23 5G has been spotted on the Geekbench database. The handset comes under the model number SM-A236U, while the listing also highlighted some of its major specifications.

The all-new Samsung Galaxy A23 5G Edition houses an octa-core SoC under the hood, coupled with an Adreno 619 GPU. Six of the cores are clocked at 1.8 GHz, while the dual high-performance cores clock in at 2.21 GHz, suggesting the chipset to be the Snapdragon 695.

This Snapdragon 690’s upgraded version supports the mmWave 5G while delivering a 15% faster CPU and 30% higher GPU performance; however, the Galaxy A23 5G's mmWave connectivity is said to be limited for the US.

The listing further reveals the A23 5G will run on Android 12 out of the box with OneUI 4.1 on top. The 4GB variant pulls off 674 single-core and 2019 multi-core scores in the Geekbench 5 evaluation.

The previously shared renders of the Galaxy A23 5G by the leakster OnLeaks unveil a strikingly similar design to its 4G counterpart with a waterdrop notch to the front surrounded by thick screen bezels. The screen size is predicted to be 6.55’’ while the panel type is still unknown. The rear quad-camera layout is also identical to other A series devices launched recently.

No word on the Samsung mobile price yet. The volume rocker is expected to be placed on the right side, along with the power key doubling as the fingerprint scanner. The USB-C port, speaker grille, 3.5mm audio jack, and microphone should rest at the bottom of the A23 5G, and it’s expected to measure around 165.4 x 77 x 8.5mm.
