Samsung Galaxy A52 4G Receives July 2022 Security Patch In Asian Markets

Samsung has a positive reputation when it comes to keeping its old devices up to date. Even budget and mid-range devices benefit from this care. The Galaxy A52 4G, one of the best-selling smartphones of 2021, has just received the July 2022 security patch in Asia.

The update goes by the firmware code A525FXXU4BVG1 and brings more than 50 improvements to the Samsung Galaxy A52 4G's security department. Users can dive into their handset's settings panel to install the new update on their devices.

Samsung Galaxy A53's Predecessor launched a promise of three major OS updates. The handset came out with Android 11 as default and has already been upgraded to OneUI 4.1 based on Android 12. That leaves room for two future updates, namely the Android 13 and Android 14 that are yet to be announced.

The July 2022 security patch takes care of 3 critical level vulnerabilities while around 24 high severity risks are also addressed. Apart from the usual fixes on Galaxy A52 that Google pushes out, this firmware also includes 41 SVEs (Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures). These vulnerabilities are related to Samsung's own software OneUI.

Some of these highly critical issues were also found on Samsung A new model phones which allowed attackers to access the device's password, ID, and Wi-Fi AP client MAC address without permission. Other fixes on Galaxy A52 were related to Samsung Knoxguard lock, Finder app, Wearable Manager Installer, Contacts, Alarm Manager, Messages app, TelephonyUI, and many more.
