Samsung Galaxy A52 5G Clears Another Certification; Battery and Fast Charging Details Revealed

Samsung generally refreshes the Galaxy A5x line around February but this time it is said to be moved on to March 2021. The Samsung Galaxy A52 5G variant cleared an FCC certification yesterday, confirming battery specifications. Meanwhile, the phone has been thoroughly leaked before launch.

The All-new Galaxy A52 is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy A51 and its 5G Edition comes in at least two variants, one dual SIM and the other a single SIM edition. Both can be found listed on the FCC database under their respective model numbers, “A526DS” and “SM-A526B”.

Similarly, each component is mentioned by its model name. The battery ID on the new A52 belongs to a 4500 mAh cell ( used in last year’s Galaxy S20 FE) and the charger number corresponds to a 15W brick. 

The battery and charging setup are the same as the previous-gen Galaxy A51 5G. But given the upper mid-range price point, the already underwhelming 15W charging speed feels out of place in 2021. FCC also confirms that the A52 5G features a headphone jack and a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

Thanks to the preceding collection of leaks and certification documents, the Samsung Galaxy A52’s design, pricing, and specs are an open secret. In his report, the industry analyst Evan Blass shared 360° product mockups and specs for the Samsung new model 2021.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G is at the heart of the Galaxy A52 5G. It comes in two storage options — 8GB+256GB and 6GB+128GB. The base variant is rumored to start from €460 (~ Rs. 89,000), while the top-end version costs €510 (~ Rs. 98,700.) The one arriving in Pakistan, however, would be a 4G variant with somewhat different specs (link provided below). The expected price for the 4G LTE edition is rumored to be around Rs. 55,000 to 60,000 PKR.

The finish — available in four colors — covers the entire shell. Out on the front, the 6.5” AMOLED screen has an all-too-familiar hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. It’s unclear if the Samsung Galaxy A52 offers a more responsive refresh rate, but the bezels surrounding the display have grown thicker.
