Samsung Galaxy A52 Leak Shows Its Camera Upgrades; Optical Image Stabilization in the Cards

The much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy A52 launch is long overdue, so you can expect the official announcement any day now. In the meantime, another leak surrounding the phone’s camera setup — reports of the camera specs had been conflicting —  surfaced online this month.

The leak comes in the form of a tweet from the phone leaker Roland Quandt of WinFuture.de. Mr. Quandt reports that the Galaxy A52 (both the 4G and 5G editions) has a quad-camera array.

Samsung typically reserves the optical image stabilization feature for their flagship devices, but it has allegedly trickled down to their budget section this year. Plus, the Samsung Galaxy A51 was one of the brand’s top-sellers last, so it makes perfect sense for Samsung to up the ante.

As for the specifics, the Galaxy A52 optics setup is led by a 64MP wide lens with support for OIS. It’s joined by a 12MP 123° ultra-wide lens, a 5MP macro camera, and a 5MP portrait sensor.

In a similar vein, the Samsung A52 screens also get welcome upgrades: the 4G edition has a 90 Hz superAMOLED panel, while in the 5G variant the same display is cranked up to 120Hz.

The A52 4g variant (the one expected in Pakistan) is rumored to cost around Rs 60,000 to 69,000 PKR. As Samsung phones prices are always a bit on the higher side compared to the competitors, we'll have to wait for the official announcement for the exact price.

Reportedly, the Galaxy A52 dimensions are 6.5” and the resolution, 1080P. The in-display fingerprint scanner is still there, as is the persistent hole-punch in the middle. It’s toughened with Gorilla Glass and is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance (yet another feature commonly exclusive to flagships.)

Samsung ditched their Exynos chipsets and went with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon alternatives this year: SD750G 5G and SD720G 4G. The Samsung Galaxy A52 battery charges over 25W — the fastest Samsung offers.
