Samsung Galaxy A82 5G Teaser Leaked Online; the Rebranded Galaxy Quantum2 is Coming Soon

Samsung recently released the Galaxy Quantum2 in their home market of South Korea and is now readying to introduce it to a global audience. Outside Korea, the Quantum2 will debut as the Galaxy A82 5G, successor to Samsung’s novel flip-camera-rocking Samsung Galaxy A80. Its early promo was leaked online.

Courtesy of the renowned leaker Max Weinbach, the teaser first surfaced on Twitter. It doesn’t feature any previews or relevant specifications of the Samsung Galaxy A82, but the fact that Samsung already has the marketing material lined up suggests a nearing release date.

For our readers out of the loop, the Galaxy A82 5G loses the ambitious camera design of its predecessor. A standard Samsung build takes its place. We’re looking at a centered O-hole on the front and a generic camera plate on the back.

The new addition to the Samsung Price list has a 6.7” SuperAMOLED panel that peaks at a QHD+ resolution and a fluid 120Hz refresh rate. There’s an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and a 10MP selfie camera embedded into the screen. All around Galaxy A82 display, you’ll find an even, minimal bezel (not unlike the new Galaxy S21 series.)

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ and OneUI 3.1 power the Galaxy A82. It’s hooked up to a 4500 mAh battery, capable of fast charging at 25W. It comes in up to 6GB of memory and 128GB of storage options, expandable further with a microSD card.

The main camera has an OIS-assisted 64MP sensor, joined by a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 5MP macro photography lens. NFC and stereo speaker support are also part of the build. One of the key selling points of the Galaxy Quantum2 was its QRNG cryptography chip that strengthens security, but it remains to be seen if this technology will be ported over to the Galaxy A82 5G.
