Samsung Galaxy M12 Gets Benchmarked with Exynos 850; A 7000 mAh Battery is in the Cards

Last month, Samsung’s entry-level Galaxy M12 appeared in product mockups published by Voice, in collaboration with @OnLeaks. Its components were also seen in live hands-on shots. The Samsung Galaxy M11's successor secured a Bluetooth certification earlier this month. And its launch now seems close-by, as Geekbench has listed the M12 benchmarks on its database.

The Samsung Galaxy M12 has Samsung’s Exynos 850 chipset under its hood. It replaces the Snapdragon 450 mobile platform that its predecessor had. You’ll find the same processor in the Galaxy A21s, which came out in summer this year.

The Geekbench 5 scorecard for the Galaxy M12 can be found under the model number ‘samsung SM-M127F’. Its CPU is split into eight cores, clocked at a maximum of 2.0 GHz. Samsung’s latest Android11-based OneUI 3.0 powers the hardware. And at least 3GB of memory (the same as the Galaxy M11) handles the multi-tasking.

On its single-core tests, the Galaxy M12 manages a modest score of 179. And 1,029 on multi-core tests. For context, the Galaxy M11, with its Qualcomm processor from 2017 and 3GB of memory, peaked at 130 and 492 points. So the M12 Samsung mobile offers a significant bump in multi-threaded performance.

And the upgrades aren’t just limited to processing power either. Rumor has it that the Galaxy M12 features a 7000 mAh battery — following the Galaxy M51 that has the same ultra-high battery capacity. No details are available on the fast charging specs (if any).

As per the unofficial product renders, the M12 features a 6.5” notched display. It’s an LCD panel with a 720P resolution. And you unlock it with the side-facing thumbprint reader.
