Samsung Galaxy S22 Series Updates the Firmware with January Patch 2023; Fixes Security

While it isn't the first choice for flagship smartphone consumers, Samsung is well-known for its first-rate update support. It sports five years of security OTAs (better than every other android manufacturer). Samsung's update rollout spree has now entered 2023, which means the January patch has started popping up on Galaxy phones.

Several Samsung devices have received the January 2023 security patch via software updates, e.g., Samsung Galaxy S22 series. However, the January update was only available for Snapdragon variants of the series (constricted to the USA only). It was about time the chain turned its attention to Exynos variants in other markets.
So far, the January 2023 patch for Exynos-based S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra has stretched to many European regions. Global commencement is bound to happen soon.

The new firmware version it carries is "S90xBXXS2BWA2." As expected, it fixes security issues and new-born vulnerabilities to your data and files. Users in Pakistan will likely receive the Samsung Latest 5G Model update within days, and upon availability, they will find a sticky notification to update their S22s. Manually check the OTA by visiting Settings » Software update on your phone.
While the January update doesn't excite us very much, the update following it will do. After updating the entire portfolio with the patch, Samsung will start springing in the OneUI 5.1 update, which can bring meaningful changes to Samsung's software, introducing new features, and multiple improvements. The next update will also reach the flagship Galaxy phone's first (likely S22 series). We'll add an update as soon as it begins. So stay tuned.
