Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Might Feature Built-in Generative AI Named “Gauss”

Samsung is gearing up to unleash a revolutionary feature with its upcoming Galaxy S24 series. Rumor has it that the spotlight will be on the integration of on-device generative AI. The company has named it “Samsung Gauss.” Here’s everything we know about this feature.

Fresh off the heels of Samsung's AI Forum 2023, the tech giant took the wraps off its very own generative AI model, Gauss. Set to make its grand entrance in the first half of 2024, Gauss will elevate the smartphone game with its advanced capabilities.

Samsung Gauss isn't just about hype — it's got the chops to generate and edit images, compose emails, summarize documents, and even play the role of a coding assistant. The cherry on top is its design to run certain functions locally on the device, promising a seamless and responsive user experience.

Named after the legendary mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss, this AI marvel comprises three sub-models, each with its specialty — Samsung Gauss Language, Samsung Gauss Code, and Samsung Gauss Image. With enhanced work efficiency and device control, Gauss will be the unsung hero at Samsung's latest flagship model Unpacked event.

Gauss’s integration into the Galaxy S24 lineup could be a game-changer. With the potential to run limited generative image and language functions directly on the handset, Samsung is setting the stage for a new era in user experience.

Internally, Samsung is already reaping the benefits of Gauss for employee productivity, and soon, the company will expand its usage across various Samsung products. Gauss AI will redefine what we expect from our smartphones. Stay tuned for more on the topic.
