Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge to Launch Next Month, Initially Available in Just Two Regions

Previous reports about the Galaxy S25 Edge suggested that it may launch on May 13th, but the latest news contradicts it. The phone might launch at the end of May per the new leak, and for those wondering about the phone’s availability, we have a bit of bad news. 

The prolific leaker we all know as Ice Universe reported his latest findings about the Galaxy S25 Edge on Weibo. He says that the device’s launch will be limited in scope. The company might initially release the slim S25 variant in the home country and China to see how the market reacts to the newcomer.

According to some reports, the S25 Edge might not even have an associated event for the release, as the company tries to keep the launch discreet. But why release the Galaxy S25 Edge in China and South Korea only? Another leaker responded to Ice Universe’s post to answer this question.

China is predicted to have the largest sales volume of all the countries, so it makes strategic sense to launch the device in the country first. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold SE went through the same thing, except that the Samsung flagship latest model could potentially launch in the global markets later. 

Still, the phone’s global expansion depends on how the experiment goes in China and South Korea. Samsung wants to test the waters in those countries to see the sales figures and public interest that will be the bedrock for Galaxy S25 Edge’s deployment in the global markets. 

There’s already anticipation for the device reaching the European Market later this year. An online retailer in Italy has already given the price figures for this device in the region, which leads us to believe that the S25 Edge will inevitably launch in that country and on the continent.

If its price is the determining factor for its success, the phone could struggle to gain traction at €1,362 and €1,488 for 256 GB and 512 GB options. These are, after all, flagship prices, and with the Galaxy S25 Edge missing the mark as the top-of-the-line phone, Samsung predicts this device to have limited sales. The Galaxy S25 Ultra, however, remains the true powerhouse of the series.
