Samsung Q6A is a Mysterious New Foldable Belonging to the Affordable A-series

Samsung's rumored, affordable Galaxy Fold device might be finding its place within the A-series rather than debuting as a Fold FE. Leakster Roland Quandt has uncovered internal model numbers, including the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 (SM-F956, codenamed Q6), Flip 6 (SM-F741, or B6), and the intriguing Q6A, speculated to be a mysterious addition to the Fold family.

The move to position its budget-friendly Fold variant in the A-series suggests Samsung's strategy to compete in the midrange foldable segment. It will likely counter the influx of Chinese foldable alternatives with lower prices and improved camera specifications.

South Korean giant aims to capture 50% of the foldable market share in the coming years. Initially anticipated as the Galaxy Z Fold FE, the device's internal code Q6A hints at potential inclusion in the A-series lineup. While reports suggest a pricing target of around $1200, Samsung has purportedly delayed the launch to avoid overshadowing the sales of the Z Fold 6.

The company plans to integrate cost-saving measures learned from developing the flagship Z Fold 6. Their latest foldable project could offer consumers a cheaper option without compromising essentials. Samsung's aim for 2024 foldable includes more comfortable weight and dimensions for the Samsung latest foldable smartphone.

While details about the A-series foldable remain speculative, its potential entry into the midrange market and its leaked codename are reliving for those who can’t afford horizontal folding phones. We eagerly await official announcements from Samsung to confirm these developments.
