Tecno Camon 15 Pro and Camon 15 are Coming to Pakistan Next Month; One with Pop-up Camera

Tecno’s sequel to last year’s Camon 12 Air -- the Camon 15, and Camon 15 Pro duo has just gone official. And as is customary with Tecno, this latest release is another ambitious (more on that in a bit) budget smartphone, from design to hardware and everything in between. As per local sources, the Camon 15 lineup will be making a debut in Pakistan on March 25 at amazing Tecno Prices.

Tecno Camon 15

The Camon 15 carries over the in-display-camera screen from its predecessor. You’re looking at the same 6.5-inch panel, but the rear-facing camera gets an iterative upgrade. The quad-camera system features a 48-megapixel primary shooter -- which isn’t typical to phones in this particular price bracket, neither the four lenses nor the pixel count. And that’s what makes this lineup ambitious.

Tecno combines this 48-megapixel module with a dedicated lens for low-light photography. The setup is housed in a ‘Galaxy S20 inspired’ domino-style camera bump, flanked by a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. For snapping selfies, you’re looking at a decent 16-megapixel front-facing shooter. The panel itself is offered in three different color options: Shoal Gold, Fascinating Purple, and Jade. The expected Tecno price for the handset can fall anywhere around 25,000 to 28,000 PKR.

As for the performance, the Camon 15 runs on a MediaTek Helio P35 chipset with HiOS V6.0.1 (Based on Android 10) pre-loaded right out of the box. Tecno is selling you up to 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of onboard ROM, paired with 256 GB of expandable storage to boot. And to power up this hardware, you get a beefy 5,000 mAh battery.

Tecno Camon 15 Pro

Now for the more ‘premium’ edition, as it were. Even though they carry the same name, the Tecno 15 Pro features a markedly different design language from its base variant -- the most prominent of which is the motorized pop-up camera module and the 32MP selfie camera mounted on it.

The 48-megapixel main camera is stacked vertically in a strip that is oddly reminiscent of some earlier Oppo designs. Alongside the camera, you get a similar physical fingerprint scanner package.

The FullView display stretches across diagonally 6.53 inches and delivers an FHD+ resolution. The memory configuration with the ‘Pro’ variant is 6GB+128GB, but the battery is downgraded from 5,000 mAh to 4,000 mAh -- which seems rather self-defeating. The handset is expected to arrive in Pakistan carrying a Retailing anywhere from 35,000 to 39000 PKR.
