Tecno Releases the long-awaited Camon 12 Air, Sold out in the First Half Hour

Tecno has been cementing its position as a budget-minded brand and has slowly, but surely made its presence felt in the entry-level bracket. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a punch-hole-toting smartphone with a three-lens setup on a tight budget, and that is perhaps why Tecno’s freshest offering – Camon 12 Air, has been generating a ton of buzz on the internet. Available for a competitive price tag, this arrival features a premium-aesthetic and some impressive internals.

Following its global release, the much-anticipated Tecno Camon 12 Air finally landed in Pakistan yesterday. And make no mistake, this entry-level smartphone was one of the most heavily anticipated budget-friendly smartphones of late.

Before Camon 12 Air even hit the store shelves, the smartphone had been making waves on social media platforms – from Facebook to Twitter, and everything in between. And this trend hasn’t died down yet. Far from it; in fact, it’s actually growing.

As for now, the phone is exclusively available via the popular online vendor – Daraz. And to give you a rough idea of how well customers have received the handset, Daraz ran out of stock within 30 minutes of the launch. Yes, you read it right, in the first half-hour.

The phone combines stellar performance with a top-shelf design language, but for a starting price of just 19,999 PKR, not only is this offering a solid daily driver, but also a bargain. Let’s kick things off with the design. You’re looking at a punch-hole design with a display that measures 6.55 inches and produces a screen-to-body ratio of 90 percent – again, a not a number typical to entry-level smartphones.

You can pick from Bay Blue and Stellar Purple Hues. On the back, the phone sports a triple rear-facing camera setup offering a 16-megapixel primary sensor rounded off by a 5-megapixel 120-degree ultrawide sensor and a 2-megapixel macro lens for breathtaking close-up shots. This optical hardware is perfected by AI scene detection and AI HDR.

Sitting underneath, is an Helio P22 chipset clocked at 2.0 GHz that is complemented by a generous 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of onboard storage. This internals draws power from a powerful 4,000 mAh battery and run on an Android Pie (9.0) overlaid by HiOS 5.5. For securing your device, you get a rear-mounted capacitive fingerprint sensor as well as face unlocking functionality.
