Xiaomi 14 Now Receiving Android 15 Update Globally with HyperOS 1.1

Android 15 has started reaching all Xiaomi 14 phones inside and outside China, and we are not talking about the early access build here. It’s the stable Android 15 version overhauling the vanilla Xiaomi 14 globally, and these are the things you ought to know before updating.

We have seen Android 15 on both Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro, their newest phones, and they both have Hyper OS 2.0 UI layered on top. But for some unknown reason, we are not getting the same Hyper OS version with the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro’s Android 15 update. 

On all the global Xiaomi 14 phones, Android 15 has a HyperOS 1.1 UI layer rather than HyperOS 2. It could be a sign of some missing features but at this point, it’s hard to guess their true intentions. We’ll need to wait before more reports paint the full picture.

From the screenshot of a Changelog shared by a European user, this update has barely any new features. We see some optimations and fixes on the Home Screen, lock screen, and other menus in the UI, but Hyper OS 1.1 is essentially the same as the original.

Of course, Android 15 will bring some underlying Google features to reward this transition, but there are barely any HyperOS-related changes to mention in this update. Hyper OS 1.1 is doing rounds in Europe and a few other regions and folks in Pakistan will also see this update shortly.
