Honor 30 Preview Appears in a Sketch Along with its Camera Specifications; Could feature a Triple Camera

Previous leaks surrounding the Honor 30 series have suggested that the upcoming Honor 30 will feature a camera-centric build. Now the phone leaker @OnLeaks has published a blueprint of the device, along with its alleged camera specifications. Note that this preview comes in the form of a sketch and not render, so we’ll leave it to our readers to judge its accuracy.

If the sketch is a representation of Honor 30's finalized design, you're looking at a triple-camera setup, arranged vertically in a rectangular bump. The primary lens has a 50MP Sony-manufactured IMX7xx sensor behind it that has a massive individual pixel size of 2.24 µm. Four pixels are binned into one super pixel using a quad-bayer filter. By comparison, Samsung's latest S20 flagship has a pixel size of 1.8 microns. That said, the recently-introduced Huawei P40 Pro has a bigger pixel size than both these cameras, indicating that Honor hasn't borrowed it from the P40 trio.
As per a previous leak, the sensor measures 1/1.3" and comes equipped with Huawei's 'Octo Pixel autofocus' – a Full Pixel autofocus tech. Next to the primary camera lies a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens that also can bin the smaller pixels into a 2.8-micron superpixel. To round off this setup, an 8MP telephoto shooter allows for up to 3x lossless optical zoom.

The phone shares its design language with the Honor 30S – which Honor has been teasing in promo posters. Speculation has it that the Honor 30 runs on a Kirin 990 chipset. The 30S features a 64MP main camera and is powered by a Kirin 820 platform with support for 40W fast charging.
Honor 30S is scheduled for launch on March 30, but whether or not Honor 30 will be making an appearance there remains unconfirmed.
