Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ is Soon Launching Globally; Clears a GCF Certification

With the fifth generation of their Reno series, Oppo introduced a premium ‘Pro+’ edition. The Reno5 Pro+ was officially unveiled in China last month, but no global launch timeline was shared. Since then, the Oppo Reno5 Pro+ has cleared Bluetooth SIG and FCC certifications. Recently, it was featured on another certification platform, bringing it a step closer to global launch.

Oppo Reno5 Pro+ is listed on the Global Certification Forums (or GCF) under its model number “CPH2207''. The document contains the cellular connectivity details but lacks any system information. For that, we turn to the Federal Communications Commission’s database.

The FCC documentation reveals the battery, charging, and 5G connectivity details. The global Reno5 Pro+ features a 4,450 mAh battery and 65W fast charging. Oppo, among other Chinese manufacturers, tweaks the local variant before launching it globally. But based on the specifications already made public, the Chinese and global variants seem to be the same.

If that is the case, the Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ features the Snapdragon 865+, powered by the latest ColorOS 11 (based on Android11). 8GB/12GB of memory and 128GB/256GB of fast UFS 3.1 storage round off the internals.

Out on the front, we’re looking at a curved, 6.55” AMOLED screen. The flagship-grade panel delivers a 1080P resolution at a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. It has a hole-punch in the corner, an optical fingerprint scanner underneath, and narrow bezels all around. Plus, the display supports HDR10+ colors and peaks at 1100 nits of brightness.

The shell is made from a blend of glass and aluminum. It shifts color depending on how the light hits it. A camera plate, used to house the Reno5 Pro+ camera system, sticks out of a corner. It has four cameras — a 50MP f/1.8 primary OIS-assisted camera, a 13MP telephoto lens, a 16MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera.
