Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro Officially Announced; Set to Feature a 64-megapixel camera package

Last year's Realme 5 family was Realme's most successful offering yet, and the company's CEO has just announced the sequel to the Realme 5 series. As per an official tweet by Realme, Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro are' coming soon' promising that it will 'change our smartphone universe.' In the follow-up tweet, he also posted a live shot captured by the upcoming duo.

The Realme 6 Series will launch in India first on the 5th of March while other countries will follow soon. We just had the Realme 5i launched yesterday in Pakistan so it could take a while before the new series can make it to Pakistan. Further in another tweet, the watermarked image confirms that one of the two models will feature a 64-megapixel module nested in a quad-camera system.

Since a third iteration followed Realme 5 and 5 Pro's release -- the Realme 5i, we're expecting a Realme 6i as well. And as WhatMobile noted in a previous post, the Realme 6i has already been signed off by the FCC under the model name RMX2040.

The 6i will be rocking a 48-megapixel main camera, a 6.5-inch display and a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W fast-charging. If you go by this spec sheet, the 64-megapixel quad-camera should debut with the standard edition. You're looking at a substantial upgrade from Realme 5's 12-megapixel camera setup, at any rate.

In a similar vein, Realme 6 Pro has also been spotted buried inside Singapore's IMDA database bearing the model number RMX2001. The listing confirms a 4,300mAh battery capacity that will be powering the base variant. Earlier leaks point to a revamped design language, suggesting that Realme will lop off the dew-drop notch and replace it with a punch-hole cutout.

With the help of the FCC listing and a bit of healthy speculation, we expect Oppo's latest ColorOS 7 to power the entire Realme 6 lineup. We're still in the dark about the additional pricing and launch details, but we'll keep you posted as the story develops.
