Vivo Y38 5G Launched with Snapdragon 4 Gen2, 50MP Camera, and 6000mAh Cell

Meet Vivo Y38 5G — the newest addition to Vivo’s ever-growing roster of budget Y phones. The new sibling in the family was quietly released in Taiwan yesterday. The Y38 5G is an entry-tier phone featuring the brand’s next-gen FunTouch OS, Qualcomm silicon, and fast charging support.

Vivo Y38 5G features a 6.68” hole-punched 720p IPS LCD. It doesn’t offer HDR support but it has a 120Hz refresh rate. Plus, the contrast ratio is premium with up to 1000 nits brightness and the bezels are uniform.

Flip the phone over to reveal its matte, polished shell. Vivo Y38 has flat edges, a circular camera plate, and a side power button pulling double duty as the fingerprint sensor. Buyers can choose from the gorgeous Pacific blue and dark green shades.

The company’s latest Vivo 5G mobile holds a 3.5mm audio jack and (surprisingly) an IP64-rating protecting chassis. The dedicated SD card slot expands storage. Stacking the phone’s hardware culminates in a 165.7 x 76 x 7.99 ~ 8.09mm chassis.

The two lenses aboard the camera platform are nothing to write home about. It’s a standard affair with one 50MP wide and one low-res camera. Vivo has embedded an 8MP camera in the display. You can shoot in night mode and AI beauty modes.

At its heart, the Vivo Y38 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen2. It’s a highly efficient chip built on a 4nm process node. You get 8GB of memory and 256GB of built-in storage. Everything is powered by a 6,000 mAh battery and 44W quick charging. FunTouch OS 14 runs on this hardware. Vivo Y38 5G’s price remains unknown for now.
