Tecno Pova Slim 5G is an ultra-thin phone with mid-range specs. It’s not yet official, but the teased specifications signal a healthy mix of performance, screen resolution, battery life, and camera quality. The phone should bring an octa-core chip with 8 GB of RAM. 128 GB and 256 GB storage choices are also expected. It trades off the microSD slot for a thin design. The phone will mostly depend on built-in storage for apps, files, and media, which is much more reliable. The top is covered with a first-rate 6.78” AMOLED screen, which peaks at a resolution of 1224 x 2720. Pixels are pushed at a 144 Hz refresh rate. Transitions and scrolling on this phone should feel a lot smoother than on your typical 120Hz devices. A 50MP primary camera does the heavy lifting for photography. It’s backed by a second lens and an LED flash. HDR photo mode is also available. You can record 4K@30fps videos on it. A 13MP shooter takes clear and sharp selfies. Battery life is a strong focus; the unit has a 5160mAh battery, which is unreal if you consider its thickness. The name says 5G, so expect a Dimensity chip on it. You will find a fingerprint sensor, likely on the screen, and good stereo sound output from speakers, but the 3.5mm jack may not be available. Tecno Pova Slim sets out to transform the whole budget market. If this can compete in design with major players like Samsung , it should motivate other brands to do the same
