Tecno Camon 50 Ultra 5G has now gone official as the lineup’s most powerful device. The phone has Sony’s new LYT 700C sensor that boosts low-light photography as it takes photos from a 1/1.56” sensor with OIS support. There’s another camera right next to it, which is meant for optical 3X zoom portraits and 60x AI SuperZoom. Then comes the third shooter on the back with an 8MP ultrawide lens. Tecno Camon 50 Ultra will do 50MP selfies and 4K@60FPS videos from the front. All of the phone’s hardware is run by a Dimensity 7400 Ultimate SoC at 2.6 GHz, which is one of the best midrange chips, and it can even handle light non-competitive gaming with the Mali-G615 MP2 GPU. That’s a 4nm chip, by the way. The efficiency will be top-notch. A 45W charger will refill the newcomer’s 6500mAh cell. This type of battery lasts more than a day, in our experience. The newcomer’s design is curved with a 3D AMOLED sitting on top. That’s a 6.78” panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. There’s a tiny camera cutout, and a Dynamic notification interface around it. A fingerprint ID lies at the bottom of the screen. Tecno secured an IP69K rating and MIL-STD-810H certification for the Camon 50 Ultra. The newcomer definitely compares with the high-end Samsung Galaxy A37 in design, raw power, and camera specs. But the Samsung phone still beats the Camon in software support. So take your pick wisely.
