Vivo V80

Vivo V80 has minuscule upgrades. They’ve bumped the refresh rate on the AMOLED screen to 144Hz, but it keeps the same 6.59” size and 1.5K resolution. The brightness peaks at 5000nits again. And there’s HDR10+ support. Vivo V80 has the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip onboard at 2.8GHz. We’ve seen the same chip on the last two generations, and this is the third time. But the chip is still relevant and works fine in the midrange. The phone does have a new OS. Vivo V80 ships with Android 17 Origin OS 7 by default. Nothing’s been upgraded on the camera. But it does record 4K videos at 60 FPS now. The main camera is 50MP. The Ultrawide sensor right next to it is 8MP. And the periscope telephoto shooter with 3x zoom is a 50MP unit. They’ve also put a 50MP sensor on the selfie camera. Vivo V80 has a metal chassis, by the way, and it’s 7.7mm thin. They got it tested for a full IP69 waterproof rating. The slim body is packed with a 7200mAh cell, which you can recharge via a 90W wired input. But there’s no wireless charging. There’s a fingerprint ID on the screen. And the Vivo V80 has dual speakers for stereo audio. These are the preliminary specs we’ve come across so far. The only good challenger for the Vivo V80 is Samsung Galaxy A57, but the former has far better camera hardware and battery.
