The preliminary spec sheet for the Tecno Pova 8 is here. It’s a gaming device that’s also biased toward normal users. A recent certification already confirmed its battery size, which is a decent upgrade. We found the info on TUV’s database, so it’s pretty much set in stone. It’s a 7750 mAh massive cell. This is coming from the 6000 mAh battery on the last Pova 7 handset. Pova 8 could be worth the upgrade. The cell will probably recharge over 45W input. And the display should remain 144Hz, though the internet is torn about the kind of screen they’ve used. It could either have an AMOLED or an IPS panel. The resolution could be FHD+ or 1080p. Preliminary details based off the older version would point to a Dimensity 7300 chip. Then there’s 8GB RAM and a 128GB starter kit for the Pova 8. The Pova series is not known for the camera, so we expect little from it in that area. A 50MP main and 16MP selfie shooter is a possibility. Pova 8 will be based on Android 16 and HiOS 16. The safety rating is either IP64 or above. The design also seems to have an RGB LED indicator. The OS update support concerns us, but the phone otherwise rivals the Samsung Galaxy A37 and something along those lines from other global brands.
