Nubia Neo 5 Max from ZTE is a solid mid-ranger that’s affordable, has a massive battery, and decent performance. It’s not really a flagship device, but it’s a cheap gaming phone with the Dimensity 7100 SoC and a large cooling chamber for heat control. The design is pretty wild, and it has RGB on the back. Nubia Neo 5 Max would be categorized as a smartphone even though the screen is a large 7.5” IPS LCD nearing tablet size. That’s the biggest LCD you’ll find on a handset. It’s 1.5K resolution, and the pixels are pushed at 120Hz. It will hit 1000nits on adaptive settings. There are shoulder triggers on the side (990Hz). And we have a fingerprint reader and a volume rocker on the other edge. You’ll do gaming on the Mali-G610 MC2 iGPU. It’s strictly a midrange SoC. Not that it runs hot in the first place, but sustained load does require cooling. The VC chamber actually covers 30,000 mm² of the phone’s surface area. The RAM is 8GB LPDDR5X, which is one of the fastest, with UFS 512GB storage. A 50MP main camera on the back and a 16MP selfie camera record 1080p 30 FPS videos. Nubia Neo 5 Max has stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos, too. They’ve put a huge 7100mAh battery on the phone with a 45W charging kit. Samsung has a few options in the same price segment as the Nubia Neo 5 Max, but none have such a huge LCD or battery.
